Reaud Guest House

Reaud Guest HouseHaving a loved one in the hospital, undergoing rehabilitation or having a baby in the neonatal ICU is hard enough. Being away from home can make it even harder. The Albert E. and Gena Reaud Family Shelter, a hospitality house located at Baptist Beaumont Hospital is here to help give patients and their families a place to call home – even if only for a short time. The Family Shelter provides lodging and non-medical services to families and individuals in medical crisis. Guests are referred from physicians, staff and social workers from area medical facilities.
Opened in July 2010, the Albert E. and Gena Reaud Family Shelter serves as an emotional support and relief from the financial burden of having to pay for lodging when families are seeking medical care. The $3.2 million dollar project is located at 3120 College Street adjacent to Baptist Beaumont Hospital. The Albert E. and Gena Reaud Family Shelter will be an answer to the critical housing needs of families while their loved ones are receiving medical care. The new facility will boast 19 private bedrooms, a dining area with kitchenette, and a courtyard with prayer garden. The Albert E. and Gena Reaud Family Shelter is surrounded by beautiful landscaping and is within walking distance of the main entrance to Baptist Beaumont Hospital.
Often, families who seek lodging at the Family Shelter come unprepared for an overnight stay. They may have had to rush to the hospital at a moment’s notice, leaving behind personal essentials. The “Wish List” shows items that are needed to turn the Family Shelter into a home and provide for the everyday needs of our guests.
The mission of the Albert E. and Gena Reaud Family Shelter is to provide lodging an non-medical services that promote the healing process in a Christian, emotionally supportive, home-like environment. Referred families are served with dignity, integrity and without regard to financial resources.

The Reaud Guest House is designed to provide low-cost accommodations for out-of-town families whose loved ones or friends are receiving care at any Beaumont hospital. The House eases the emotional and financial burden families face by providing a home- away-from-home in close proximity to their hospitalized loved ones.

Beautifully designed as a first class hotel, the House offers guests all the comforts of home.  A kitchen, two laundry facilities, a computer lounger and 19 guest rooms provide families with a place to rest, and find peace and support.

Congratulations to the Sowell'sOur Family is Growing!
Many of our guests are new parents who stayed with us while their babies received a few extra days or weeks of care at the hospital. In 2010, we had the opportunity to meet the newest addition to one of our guest’s family.
In addition to caring for family members, we offer accommodations to patients undergoing outpatient procedures.  Whether staying the night before an early appointment, or for weeks during long-term treatments, we provide a home-away-from-home for as long as needed.

The LaBordesIn Their Own Words

The LaBordes from Woodville, Texas stayed with us before and after an outpatient procedure. They came back to stay with us again after a follow-up appointment with their doctor.

“The Guest House stay enabled us to forego a 100 mile round trip and was an affordable overnight stay.  It also eliminated the uncertainty of having to drive under strenuous conditions for a senior citizen.”
