The Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas (BHSET) Board of Directors has announced the incoming BHSET Chief Executive Officer, Justin Doss, MBA, FACHE. Mr. Doss will begin as CEO on May 3, 2021. The BHSET Board voted unanimously in support of Mr. Doss at its March 22, 2021 meeting.
Retiring CEO David Parmer, an exemplary leader, has served BHSET for more than 30 years. He will con-tinue to serve in an advisory role for two years. His retirement was announced in September of 2020.
Mr. Doss is the former president and CEO of Christus Spohn Health System in Corpus Christi, Texas. A progressive and accomplished healthcare executive for more than 17 years, he is committed to financial and operational healthcare performance for long-term growth and service to local communities.

Previously, Mr. Doss presided for three years as President and CEO over Christus Spohn Health System, a six-campus system with 1,000 beds. Prior to joining Christus, Mr. Doss worked for HCA Healthcare for nine years, initially as Associate Administrator with the Methodist Health System (an HCA Partnership) in San Antonio, Texas. He was then promoted to Chief Operating Officer roles in Florida and Texas.
Mr. Doss holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas San Antonio, and earned his Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He is a fellow of the Ameri-can College of Healthcare Executives. He served on numerous boards and organizations in Corpus Christi. Among his community activities, he was a disaster recovery volunteer for several organizations during the Hurricane Harvey Recovery period. Along with his wife Amy and three children, Mr. Doss is looking forward to making the Beaumont area their home for several years to come.
